Nesco American Harvest JB-50 2-in-1 Juicer/Blender, White with Green Trim

Juicer/Blender combo is inexpensive but will it last?

It's Okay, Not Great
Took me a while to get this review out because I'm not a dedicated juicer user.

Juicer:
* I found the hopper feed to be annoyingly small. Took a lot of slicing and dicing to get the fruit/veggies into the extractor and I expected the extractor to do a lot more grinding and extracting than it did.
* The grinder and pulp chamber got pretty sloppy and the pulp itself was pretty wet. A lot of potential juice could be thrown away.
* The clip-on extractor unit itself seemed to work okay and will probably last a while unless roughly handled or abused.

Blender:
* I liked the glass pitcher and it's heft. Felt substantial.
* Mixing items in the blender was fine. Light jobs like mixing liquids and powders should be no problem.
* Heavier jobs like chopping or grinding ice for extended periods of time will probably burn the motor out quickly.

Cleaning up after all my experimentation was a chore. There seems to be a lot of...

Big hit for the entire family
This was a big hit for the entire family. My son was "juicing" all sorts of fruits and vegetables, mixing them into yogurt, making smoothies and more.

The plastic parts are delicate as other reviewers mentioned, but the product itself is not that expensive so I expect they have to cut somewhere. Personally, I would rather use a cheaper appliance because if later I decide not to use it that often, then at least I don't feel like I have a $200 unit under the counter. So, for the price, it's worth what you get.

That being said, one must realize that to get one cup of apple juice, you may need 4 apples.... so this is not the most frugal product. If you are on a budget, this may indeed be an item kept under the sink for special occasions. Most people cannot afford to be "juicing" on a daily basis.

We have no complaints though, it certainly does everything it set out to do, was fun to use, motivates kids to try new vegetables (in a juice) or to get creative...
