BISSELL PowerClean Upright Bagless Vacuum, Black, 16N59

Easy to assemble, powerful! 18 inches
Over the years I have assembled countless vacuum cleaners, so much so that I get a knot in my stomach thinking about it! So it was a VERY pleasant surprise to discover this only used four screws ... Two to attach the handle, and two to hold the back where you coil the cord. Other than that, you simply add the attachments!

A couple of weeks ago, we added a second family to our household, and we now have THREE chihuahuas and TWO cats roaming our house. I knew my small floor vacuum would never be up to the task, so I was happy to try out this vacuum through the Vine program.

After assembling it, I vacuumed the hallway, a major source of pet traffic! Imagine my shock when it picked up enough pet hair in this short area to fill the cup. It also worked well picking up at litter off the bare floor. Very powerful. Because of this, it is heavier than I am used to, but it steers easily. In fact, it picked up well from the sides as well as the front, minimizing my use of...

Burnt Out
Generally this vacuum does a good job, it has good suction for picking up dirt on both carpeted floors and wood floors. It's not too heavy for carrying up and down the stairs and it has a good array of tools that clean you upholstery well. The problem is that we literally burnt it out for a bit. In a 2 adult, 2 children, 2 dog house on a spring cleaning day it was used apparently too much. All of a sudden it sparked and turned off. Nothing unusual had been sucked up, we checked. It was left to sit for a few minutes and then turned back on. After a few minutes of use it did it again. So then it was left for a few days. Now it seems to be working well but it has left us with that feeling that uh oh don't use it too much, it's not dependable. So if you live alone or only have light use for it sure this is a good purchase. However if your a clean freak this probably isn't the right one for you.

Very good vacuum cleaner
This is a larger and more powerful vacuum cleaner than my other unit, the Hoover Windtunnel Air Bagless Upright. It sucks up dirt, pet hair, people hair, cereal, bugs, and various other things.

Large-ish, yet versatile. It weighs almost 30 pounds, and was not meant to be a lightweight vacuum cleaner. For portability, I use the Hoover lightweight vacuum. Hooking up the hose correctly is an essential (and logical) requirement, but you have to make sure the connection is proper and solid. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the flex hose has to be connected and seated properly for full suction.

It is not as light and compact as the BISSELL FeatherWeight, which falls under a different class of portable vacuum cleaners anyway.

Easy to empty. The bagless feature is a big plus. The dirt cup is easy to remove and empty. The HEPA filter is easily cleaned (by hand), so no more bags...
