Warning - piece of junk
Beware this product does not work well at all. Constantly clogs and not powerful enough to suck up even light fireplace ash.
It is hard to clean the filter - which you have to do after each time you use it. Very disappointing and way too expensive. Just get yourself a good shop vac.
Cold Ash Use Only - What??!
Received the bad ash 2 today and used it on my pellet stove. I used it right after I shut down the stove and the ash was warm. Of course I dumped the burn pot out into my hot ash can. The vac worked fine. The filter seems good. It did come with a filter cover. But here is the issue. On Amazon, the add clearly says: "Not only is the motor protected with a HEPA and filter cover, but there is additional fire and heat protection for safety." So it seems clear to me this ash vac should be able to be used with warm or even hot ash. The hose is metal lighted. The can is metal. The filter is paper. The filter cover is a fire retardant looking fabric cover (not a metal screen). So you would think it is hot ash usable, but the manual clearly states cold ash use only. So I'm not pleased about that. It is an ash vac after all. When you clean a pellet stove, you shut it down, wait 5 or 10 minutes, clean it, and start it back up again. So, only a 3 star from me for now. Other...
not as great as I thought it would be
I bought this thinking it was made to clean up any ash situation, but found that all the ash needs to be 100% cold. When in the Winter is the heating source completly out? Also the suction is awful with the hepa filter on and it isnt much better with it off. So pretty disappointed.
