SPT Stainless Cordless Electric Kettle, Red

My teapot
We drink tea by the bucket in our house. We have tried several brands of electric tea pots but this one is the best one yet!! Very fast boil which is demanded n our house.
I would recommend this to anyone who loves hot tea water fast!!!

Disappointed in this product. Defective!
I purchased this twice this past month and had to return them both. There must be a short in it somewhere. It turns on and off. Will not heat the water. I worried that it may cause a fire. Customer service at Amazon was very helpful on my returns and refund.

Horrible
Horrible!! Swtich to turn it on works half the time, will be going in the trash soon. Waste of money.

Kalorik Cordless 57-Oz. Dome-Shaped Jug Kettle, Stainless Steel

How did I live before I owned this?
I think I've found a use for this thing every single day since it arrived.

When I opened it, I followed the manufacturer's directions and boiled 3 full pots of water before use. At the end of the 3rd pot I looked inside and saw a bit of film in the pot, which I expected. I had no problems cleaning: I used my bottle brush to get inside and into the corners since the handle doesn't swing out of the way. (I don't have babies in the house, but the bottle brush is great for water bottles, vases, and all sorts of other grownup items.)

A few of my uses I've timed its performance. I can hear that water is boiling in a full pot after only 90 seconds. Color me impressed! When I'm using it for tea, I don't let it heat much past when I hear the water start to boil otherwise it'll be far too hot to drink. A few days later I timed how long it took for the automatic shut-off to flip, which was just...

What a disappointment! Wanted to avoid plastic!
It seemed like the perfect kettle. We wanted to avoid plastic, and thought this was it. So hard to find plastic-free appliances, especially those that come into contact with HOT liquid. Talk about a way to get chemicals to leach into your food/drinks!)

It was easy to remove the internal filter that had plastic on it from the inside of the spout. They warn not to, but it really makes no difference if you are watching it boil. The manufacturer says that because the mesh screen of this filter causes some degree of pressure (however small) for the steam when the water boils which helps their autoshutoff to work. But I never leave it alone anyway.

The real problem was that the water ALSO goes up into the PLASTIC HANDLE, which has a readout for water levels. Cute idea, but hey -- hot water into plastic. I may as well have just gotten a plastic kettle.

Rats. It is such a perfect kettle otherwise! Nice appearance, quiet, fast boil, good size. We...

Be careful if you will use this kettle frequently
This kettle looks nice just at the very beginning, it heats up quickly, lightweight, and the handle is well designed so you will not be getting hurt by the boiling water. However! After a few days' using, the filter inside is going to rusted! Yellow rust are everywhere of the filter especially the corners. It is unpractical you remove the filter and let it dry completely after every use. I mean, when the boil water just empty, the kettle inside is still very very hot. Moreover, it will take some efforts to remove the filter. After remove sometimes (less 5 times), the net of spout filter breaks here and there... I really do not think it is good for health by drinking "rusted" water.

Then I removed this filter and try to use this kettle without it anyway, but it will never lead to the auto-shut off. Imagine I forget to cut off the power after the water has boiled and the "auto-shut off kettle" never shut off... OMG, it is very dangerous! And you can never tell whether the...

Panasonic "Breakfast Collection" NC-ZK1H 1.4 Liter Water Kettle, Stainless Steel & Smoke

OK, but expensive for what it is
I must have read the description incorrectly, because I thought this would heat water to a set temperature for different things, such as green tea or hot cocoa. Wrong. It heats until the water boils, and it's difficult to tell when that happens unless you wait until the kettle turns itself off. The minimum amount of water one can heat is a pretty large amount - enough for a large mug. So, if you want to heat a smaller amount than that, you won't be able to do that in this kettle.

It is pretty to look at, but it is heavy and the water gauge on the outside is difficult to see. It might not be a big deal for the younger set, but if you have weak wrists, arthritis, or just can't lift heavy objects very well, it could be a problem. Perhaps younger folks would be able to see the water level better, but it is so small and since the glass is somewhat tinted, that I think most people will have difficulty reading it.

The stainless steel interior is nice, and it doesn't...

Form Wins Out Over Function a little too much in Uber-Stylish yet Surprisingly Basic Kettle
This kettle represents a "nice try" by Panasonic. I applaud its audacious design -- two words rarely heard in the same sentence as the word "kettle."

The unit is visually striking, eschewing the curvilinear forms of most kettles in favor of a rectangle with rounded edges.

If you are attracted by the design, you will probably look next at the price tag and be instantly repulsed.

Let's get this out of the way: this kettle is absurdly and obscenely overpriced.

The only reason I bought one was that I was able to get it at a very deep discount: even at half-off retail, it is still overpriced.

That said, I find it to be an attractive, seemingly-sturdy appliance, albeit with very few of the bells and whistles commonly found even on inexpensive kettles.

PROS:

- Unusual angular design

- Relatively quiet operation

- Sides remain (mostly) cool to the touch during operation, so no more burned...

A kitchen dream come true!
I am in love with this product, I looked for it for 8 months and finally found it here. And now it's in my kitchen :D
