Takes some figuring out...
EDITED 7/28/2013 Baby food edition:
I finally found what this product was made for ;) Baby food! Steamed carrots, brussel sprouts, blueberries, etc. It purees very nicely in a short amount of time. Like any blender, you will need to add more liquid than you might think. I add water to my fruit purees and chicken broth to my vegetable purees. I freeze them in bulk in silicone ice trays. The Twister makes the whole baby food process very very easy. Woot!
EDITED 1/20/2013 after trying more frozen smoothies.
I am increasing my review from 2 stars to 3 stars. I tried a Jamba Juice frozen bag in the Twister and it blended really well (frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, frozen raspberries, frozen yogurt, fresh apple juice). The juice is 100% necessary to keep everything moving and it blended about 90-95% of the frozen pieces with plenty of juice added in.
Even though the large container broke, I can still use the small one and I've figured...
Love it
I use this blender to make protein-powder smoothies with frozen fruit and ice. It works great! It is less loud if I hold it in my hand rather than set it on the counter. I just love it - works so fast and blends really well!
About 4 years old, and still works great!
I got this little blender as a gift for Christmas about 4 years ago. It has been a great tool in my Kitchen. I use it daily to make smoothies for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes both. I have had no problems with it. It is super easy to use. Fill up the cup, screw the blade on, flip it over and push it down onto the base. Twist it slightly to lock it into place. It comes on, blends, and when it has reached a consistency you are happy with, untwist it from the base, and it turns off. Easy.
It is a bit noisy (which should be expected when blending ice), but it blends smoothly and there have been no problems with the motor, cups, etc... Of course, like with all blenders, the smoothness depends highly on what you put in it.
I definitely recommend this product for those who drink their meals daily. Easy to clean, easy to use. No problem.
