La Crosse Technology WS-9215U-IT Wireless Forecast Station with Clear Frame

Easy to read, takes up little room
Station works very well, takes up little room hanging on the side of the kitchen cabinet. Very handy to check outside temp

Wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer
I have now had this product for about a month. It works well. The outdoor thermometer wireless signal has to pass through a brick clad external wall and at least two internal walls before reaching the base station. It seems to do this with ease, which is something the lower range (30 metre devices) will not do.

The clear surround is plastic, not glass, which is a little disappointing.

Steer clear of this product
Steer clear. I've tried to get the remote temperature sensor to connect with the base about two dozen times and it will not connect. I have ordered a replacement (from Amazon.com customer service which was amazingly helpful) but I would suggest to steer clear of this product.

Additionally the way the LCD is layered on the display it is impossible to read at an angle anymore than about 20 degrees from dead center. Not a good design.

Whynter RPD-302W Energy Star Portable Dehumidifier, 30-Pint

Working well in our basement laundry space.
We've been having a concern over our basement laundry area being some what poorly ventilated. There was no way to install any type of ventilation fan without lots of duct work. We did some research and realized that a dehumidifier was a real easy solution to moisture concerns in the basement. We borrowed my brother's old Frigidaire unit to test it out and it worked fine, it was just too noisy for an enclosed basement. It's a small space so we did not to pay extra for unnecessary output. Put it to work immediately and over a weekend it filled up about 3/4 of the bucket. It works well and much more quietly than expected. I almost thought it was not running when on low fan speed.

The "damp" feel is mostly gone from the basement. I noticed a drain port on the back of the unit and read the user guide more closely you can almost make the unit operate like a higher capacity dehumidifier by attaching a the drain hose (included) to the back of it and running that to a...

Small but powerful
Whynter RPD-302W Energy Star Portable Dehumidifier, 30-Pint

This is just what we wanted to get some of the mugginess out of the home. Although it obviously doesn't cool, it does help make the air feel a whole lot more comfortable. This dehumidifier is very small and and be carried about fairly easily. Just plug it in and let it run. It works fast and is considered quiet. I would easily recommend it. Everything's great so far.

DON"T BUY. UNSAFE. Refuses to turn off, runs constantly, I am afraid it is a fire hazard.
I bought this as a replacement (for another dehumidifier purchased from Amazon, on the recalled list). This one never shuts off, no matter what the setting, or if you unplug it and let it set and turn it back on, then it won't run the dehumidify cycle and the frost warning comes on and says the filter is dirty. Brand new, sparkling clean filter, on its first day, not dirty. Tried it again, and again it would never cycle down; set the humidity at 45, and it had the room down to 31% and was still running. Four tries, and in three of them it would never shut off.

I am sure this item is a fire hazard like the ones that were recalled. Wayfair quickly offered me a replacement, but honestly I am afraid to have a Whynter dehumidifier in my house. I'm also vastly unhappy to have to pay to ship it back to them to get a refund; it's not going to fit in an envelope; I have asked them about that, and will update this review when I hear back.

UPDATE: Wayfair were very...
