not worth $9.99
my husband and i make homemade popcorn every other day. we were using a small pot but wanted to buy something larger. i thought this was a good price for its size but i forgot...that you get what you pay for. as soon as i took it out of the box i thought, "darn it, i shouldnt have bought this!" i looked at the features or lack there of and turned the crank a few times and it kept getting stuck. the top is very hard to put back on once you take if off. it is large but not well made by any means. i showed my husband to get a second opinion. he said, "send it back and spend more for a better one." so i packed it back up and im sending it back. amazon returns are easy, just pack, print and give to the mail carrier.
Great Product
I read hundreds of reviews trying to find a decent popcorn popper that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I liked the look of this one and purchased it. It's sturdily made out of medium to light-weight aluminum with a tight-fitting lid and metal gears. It works well--just cook your popcorn on medium heat. The gears mesh well and the turn mechanism is smooth, the lid opens on either side and can be removed completely for cleaning. Lid is vented to keep popcorn from getting steamy. Note: one side of the lid has a clip to hold it in place, the other side is friction fit and should be pushed down completely during operation. I ordered this on Oct. 4 in the afternoon and it arrived (standard shipping) from Amazon 2 days later on the 6th. I'd have given this a five star rating but the one point I'm going to be watching is where the paddle is riveted to the crankshaft. Looks like it could easily come apart. If that happens I'll replace the rivet with a screw. No big deal. For 19.99,...
Good, fun to use product
A little thin feeling, but does not affect the product utility. This is a replacement popper, had a little problem with the plastic gears on the first one, over time. Good overall value however.
